How to Paint uPVC Windows?

When painting exterior uPVC, you need a primer with outstanding stickiness. Here we show you how to achieve the best results.

1) Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be dry, clean and free from anything that will interfere with the stickiness of the materials to be applied. Remove loose and failing material by brushing or scraping with a stiff prickle brush to a sound edge. Feather sound edges with a fine grade caustic paper. Remove all visible signs of organic growth and treat the areas with Blackfriar Anti-Mould Solution in accordance with the operator’s directions. Allow to dry.

2) Priming
Ensure the surface is free from any contaminants and anything that could interfere with adhesion then degrease overall with methylated spirit frequently shifting the cloth. Prime overall with one entire coat of Bulls Eye® 1-2-3 Plus Primer Sealer in accordance with the operator’s guidance. Grant a minimal drying time of one hour in normal drying conditions.
